Japanese color woodblock attrib. to Terazaki Kõgyõ
(1866-1919). Shunga (Erotic print).
Date: c.1899. Size: 9 7/8" x 7 1/8" inches. Fine
impression, color and very good condition.
Some minor repairs to centerfold. Wonderful printed details
such as metallic pigments and embossing.
A
young couple wearing the latest fashion making love while
standing in shallow water.

Although there's some debate
concerning the attribution of this series ( Terazaki Kogyo,
Tomioka Eisen, Hamada Josen? ) this is nevertheless one of
the most famous shunga designs of the Meiji Period.
