Description:
Original Japanese color painting by Ito Seiu (1882-1961). Ink and color on paper. Kinbaku style. Date: 1940s.
Total size: 14 1/4" x 10" inches. Signed and sealed by the artist. Minor marks and flaws otherwise in a wonderful state.A thought-provoking piece featuring a tied up woman being captured and left in a room while her kidnappers are standing
outside in the rain.Ito Seiu was a Japanese style-painter from Tokyo, who studied Rimpa school under Nozawa Teiu. While he worked as an illustrator for newspapers, he was also known as a genre painter depicting sado-erotic subjects and ghosts. Because of his pioneering role in the art of bondage Seiu is nicknamed the 'father of kinbaku'.

She is attached to bamboo sticks while her legs are spread apart bounded with ropes. Blood is dripping from her genitals falling into a wooden bucket. The depicted snow outside of the window adds a deceptively "cosy" atmosphere. One of the striking characteristics of Shoji's style is his use of red paint which are applied to specific details.
Oki Shoji's work is extremely rare and highly coveted by kinbaku (shibari) devotees and erotica collectors.
A sinisterly beautiful piece !

Syunkai Nishimura is a Japanese-style from Tokyo. He is one of the top bondage artists in Japan today. A lot of his work has been published in Japanese magazines (mainly SM) and newspapers. Syunkai paints in colors and also in black and white, sometimes by hand but also by air brush. Of his original paintings he often makes editions of 100 giclee prints. This is one of his unique original pieces.
