Date: c.1790s. Large koban size: 8 1/8" x 6"
inches. Fine impression, color and very good condition.
Centerfold, some minor repairs with very fresh colors for a
print of this early period.
A man makes advances to a mother or
wet-nurse suckling a child. A daruma doll in the
background.
The body of the man and the baby have been printed in flesh
tones using a metallic pigment that has since oxidized,
creating darkened areas and imbuing the figure with texture.
