“An excellently printed shunga depicting an impulsive encounter between Yosaburô and his secret lover
Otomi.Yosaburô, a petty criminal, who had once dared to have an affair with Otomi, a gangser’s mistress.
When the gangster found out about the affair, Otomi fled and was thought to have drowned herself.
She did not die however and was saved by a stranger, who later turned out to be her brother.
As a result of his liason Yosaburô’s face was mutilated by the vindictive gangster Genzaemon.
The scraf he wears around his head is to cover his scars.”
